How it Works

The most inexpensive part of horse ownership is buying the horse itself, traditionally the bills you pay while the horse is in training is where most people make or break on their investment. At Eastern Equine Centre we off an affordable way for owners to be involved in the sport of Harness racing by taking on partners in the truest sense of the word.

Step #1 is to attend one of the many Yearling Sales offered in North America and pick out and purchase a Yearling Horse.

Step #2 we will inspect the horse either during or after the sale to determine if this is a horse we want to invest in.

Step #3 we will check the pedigree of the horse either during or after the sale to again determine if this is a horse we want to invest in.

Once it is determined that we would like to invest in your horse we would agree to terms and conditions of our partnership.

General Partnership Terms (for example)

We would become a 50% partner on the horse.

You would pay us $8,950 for the Training and Boarding of the horse for the period of one year, (end of December of 2 year old season).

INCLUDES - Stall Rent, Bedding, Unlimited Hay, Two Daily Feedings, Feed Supplements, Training Reports, Paddock and Minor Maintenance like worming, shoeing, liniments and medications.

 

We would pay any remaining expenses on the horse for a period of one year, (end of December of 2 year old season).

INCLUDES - Stall Rent, Bedding, Unlimited Hay, Two Daily Feedings, Feed Supplements, Training Reports, Paddock and Minor Maintenance like worming, shoeing, liniments and medications.

 

We would pay for any local jurisdiction net racing expenses on the horse for a period of one year, (end of December of 2 year old season).

Any Monies earned after entry Fees, Drivers Fees & Off Island Travel Fees are shared 50/50, Reconciliation done at the end of each month.

 

We would pay 50% on out of jurisdiction net racing expenses on the horse for a period of one year, (end of December of 2 year old season).

Any Monies earned after entry Fees, Drivers Fees, Trainers Fees & Travel Fees are shared 50/50, Reconciliation done at the end of each month.

We would pay 50% of all Stakes Fees on the horse for the period of the partnership.

 

At the Beginning of the 3 Year Old Season

You would pay us $11,950 for the Training and Boarding of the horse for the period of one year, (end of December of 3 year old season).

At the Conclusion of the 3 Year Old Season

We would agree to sell the Horse or continue on with the above Partnership Terms.

**NOTE** Partners responsible for 50% of stakes payments, elective surgery or any unforeseeable injuries/surgeries.
